Information about making a disclosure

Compliance with code and PID Act

Concerns about a public authority’s PID Officer’s compliance with the PID Act and/or a public authority’s compliance with the PID Act

Important: If making a complaint regarding compliance with the PID Act by either a PID Officer or a public authority, you must be careful not to disclose information contained in your disclosure or reveal the identity of the subject of the disclosure. If you do, you may lose your immunity under the PID Act and you may incur a penalty.

If you have concerns about a public authority's:

  • PID Officer's compliance with the PID Officer's Code of Conduct and Integrity (PDF, 27Kb), you may wish to make a complaint to the public authority’s principal executive officer (CEO/DG). They have a role to ensure that their public authority complies with the code.
  • Compliance with the PID Act, you may wish to make a complaint to the public authority’s principal executive officer (CEO/DG) . It is their job to ensure that the public authority complies with the PID Act.

You can also make a complaint to the Commissioner for Public Sector Standards, who monitors compliance with the PID Act and Code.
