Information for public authorities

Reporting requirements

Under the PID Act, public authorities have to report to the Commissioner each year as outlined below.

Principal Executive Officer Report

Under section 23 (f) of the Act, the principal executive officer of the public authority has to report annually to the Commissioner for Public Sector Standards on:

  • the number of public interest disclosures received over the report period;
  • the results of any investigations conducted as a result of the disclosures; and
  • the action, if any, taken as a result of each investigation.

The PID officer can provide these reports.

Commissioner’s Compliance Report

Under section 19 and 22 of the PID Act, the Commissioner has to monitor compliance with the PID Act and code of conduct, and to provide an annual report to Parliament on the extent of compliance.

To enable the Commissioner to meet these obligations, public authorities may need to provide certain additional information.

Report format and submission

OPSSC provides public authorities with a reporting register which they submit electonically to OPSSC.
