Information about lodging a breach claim
Four day breach claim period
Public sector agencies have requested the opportunity to shorten the notification period for the lodgement period during which unsuccessful candidates can decide whether or not to lodge a breach claim on the Recruitment, Selection and Appointment Standard.
OPSSC has reduced the lodgement period from ten to four days. This enables a much faster recruitment time and a reduced likelihood of losing good candidates. This new approach has been reflected in an amendment to the Public Sector Management (Breaches of Public Sector Standards) Regulations 2005.
This approach is currently being trialed. During this trial, agencies will be able to opt for the four day breach period. If you wish to know whether your agency is participating in this trial, view participating agencies below.
